The cooking system, rated at 42,000 BTUs, includes 3 stainless steel gas burners and electronic Crossover ignition system. The cooking grates are porcelain-enameled cast iron. Flavorizer bars are porcelain-enameled. The primary cooking area measures 507 sq. Inches; the warming rack measures 130 sq. Inches, giving a total cooking area of 637 sq. Inches. I have had this grill for about 8 months and have been very happy with it. The only problem I have had is with the ignition switch. A AAA battery is used inside of the button that lights the grill. the button is not water tight, so any time it rains the battery area fills with water. After a few rains and me cleaning the switch and replacing the battery, the ignitor stopped working. Weber customer service is great and they sent me a replacement ignitor under warranty. I use my grill 3 - 4 times a month all year long so I don't normally like to hassle with a cover. But I guess I will have to or change the ignitor to a non battery operated type. Overall all great grill, but Weber needs to make the battery compartment water tight.


I'd give this grill five stars if it weren't for the following design flaw: the ignition switch parts are made of cheap, flimsy plastic. So flimsy that the third time we used it the ignition completely fell apart. (The grill was assembled by Barbeques Galore, so I assume they knew what they were doing.)

It was easy enough to re-assemble the ignition, but this seems like one of those parts that I will be replacing in a couple of years. If this were a cheap grill, I would not mind so much. But it's not a cheap grill, and at this price one expects quality parts.

Kind of frustrating, because Weber could have spent an extra dollar to use better materials and make a switch that would not be so flimsy...


Very solid and sturdy grill, easy to use, cooks great, actually lights up with the push of a button. Looks great on the deck, too.


This is one terrific grill. After 35 years of using a double Charmglow grill, which was showing its age, this Weber is a revelation. Sturdy and substantial are two adjectives that leap to mind. Instant lighting and rapid warmup and cooking are features I've come to love so far. Plus it doesn't go out in winds like my Charmglow did.

Everything tastes better, even plain old hot dogs and hamburgers. And, oh those prime ribs I grilled Sunday on the rotisserie (an accessory purchased separately)! Cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious.

This is a NATURAL GAS GRILL- NOT A PROPANE TANK GRILL. I ordered this thinking all gas grills are the same but I've now learned they're not. I'm now completely screwed having assembled the entire grill only to find out my propane tank doesn't work with the grill.

Weber has NO conversion kits and there is NO WAY this can be converted to use propane tanks, even though every thing about the grill looks identical to the Propane Tank version.

Personally, I feel like it should be made PAINFULLY CLEAR in the text of this product description (in big flashing red letters) that this is not a NORMAL gas grill that you find at the local Home Depot. This is one hell of a 700.00 mistake to make if you're not savvy in all the intricacies of gas grilling types and in reading the details carefully.

Be sure you're ordering the correct grill. This grill is for attaching to a hard-run gas line in your house, not for use with portable propane tanks.

UPDATE: I did end up returning the grill to Amazon. Minus the shipping charges (120.00), but at least I'm not out the whole 700.00. It did take the courier about 2 weeks to come pick up the grill but I don't think it was Amazon's fault and they were very apologetic about it.


I am extremely satisfied with this grill. It is by far the best one I could find for the money. I considered buying it locally, but found out that I could buy it for $200 dollars less from Amazon.com. It would've been worth the extra $200, but why pay more than you have to.

I considered purchasing the E-320, but decided that the side burner was a feature that would probably never be used. Most people I talk to that have bought grills with side burners never actually use them. The E-310 is wonderful. It cooks evenly, has great control over temperatures, and is built to last. I can't imagine needing a new one for a very long time.

If I had to pick the bad part of this grill, I would be pretty hard pressed to come up with something. The only thing I can think of is that the burners run from left to right along the length of the grill instead of from front to back. This isn't a problem - just different than what I'm used to. So as a result, you have to get used to having your indirect heat zones in a different place than you may be used to.

Shortly after I got it, we had a pool party where we grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for 20 people. I was able to cook all the meat for the crowd at the same time.

I would highly recommend this grill.


This product came un-assembled. It was boxed extremely well with no missing parts and good instruction. As with my previous Weber BBQ that I used for 15 years this is a high quality product.
Best of all it cooks great!
