I have been using the barbecue for a few months and it has worked great. Starts everytime the first try. Heats up quickly and cooks evenly. I am surprised by, but glad the control knobs are so sensitive. Just turning them a small amount really makes a big difference in the temperature. Now that I am use to that, I can in cook different items for the appropriate amount of time at optimal temperature. I have been cooking for two usually, but you can easily cook for up to six people at a time. Cleaning the grill has not been the easiest for me, but not a major problem. The price was great, free delivery even better. I set it up myself rather quickly. Definitely would have been helpful to have someone help put the grill on the base initially. This grill seems like it will last and to help I would recommend the cover. The spring mechanism to let you know the fuel level is a nice touch.
great little grill. had one for years and replaced it with the same. Amazon's customer service and the delivery service were excellent! Very happy with Amazon.
This wasn't the easiest product to assemble, and I'm an engineer. We don't like the concentric burners, which makes it harder to do indirect cooking, especially if you want to use a grill wok on one side and do meat on the other.
Delivery was inconvenient. We would have had to be at home between 10 and 3 to get it on a weekday. We ended up going to the warehouse to pick it up.
Lights easily and we like the gas gauge.
This is an excellent grill. THe thing I like about it most is the temperatures it reaches. Never had a grill be able to get up to just under 600 degrees. I have only used it a couple of times, but so far have not noticed any cool spots on the grill. Its pretty much the same temperature throughout the entire surface which is really nice. Only reason I gave it a 4 was because of the side table on the left of the grill is pretty cheap. It didnt snap into anything and can be just pulled right off, however unless you pull it off it will stay in place.
I picked the Weber E-210 because it looked to be the best quality grill in the $200-300 price range. After a few weeks of using the thing it has not disappointed me.
Assembly
Putting together the grill was easy. The instruction made sense. It took roughly an hour for me to assemble it by myself. It came packed in ample packaging material in perfect condition.
Quality
The grill heats up quickly. It seems to be heating up evenly so far. It has an extra wide drip pan tray unlike the messy tin cans some other low cost brands use. The storage doors are durable and the storage space is a nice extra. The propane tank attaches to a cool spring loaded attachment on the with an approximate indicator of propane remaining.
Cleaning
The grill surface cleans up very easily. And the side table top is removable for easy cleaning.
Size
The grill is probably only good for cooking for 2 - 4 people. Any gathering larger and you will run out of room quickly. But that's fine for me.
Overall, it's a high quality grill that works as advertised. I would definitely recommend for daily grilling.
I was (and still am) a charcoal snob. But as single Dad, starting the Weber kettle was just too much work for so little food. So I took a chance on the Weber Spirit. I put it together in less than an hour, rolled it out onto the deck and went to work. I love it so much I have actually gone out and purchased cookbooks so I can learn to do more with it. I hardly ever use the range top anymore if I can possible help it. It's such a good product I even bought one for my mother for her birthday (she wanted a new grill - it's not like I bought her an iron or a vaccuum cleaner). Well made, well planned -- the grill surface cleans up well, it heats up fast, you don't have to turn both burners on high for a quality flame -- all in all a worthy successor to its predecessors.
Pros:
Sturdy construction (other than the wheels), but not as sturdy as the Genesis.
A lot less expensive than the Genesis.
Very little flame up.
Good grease catcher.
Where many other grills have gone to a low-slung hood that makes it difficult to roast large pieces of meat, you can close the hood on this one over chickens and loins and the like.
Work surface (on one side) removes for easy cleaning.
Built-in propane tank gauge.
Condiment bins are mounted away from the box so they stay cool.
Cons:
Flame control not as precise as on Grill-Mate grills (what I had previously).
Wheels a little flimsy for the weight of the grill; they will probably be the first thing to go, and I'll have to replace them with some heavier ones.
Control knobs take up one entire side; only left side is usable work space.
Enameled grill surface is not as nice as the cast iron one on the Q.
Bottom Line:
If you're rich and your yard is secure, look at the Genesis.
If you need a portable grill, look at the Q.
If you're ready to move up from the $150 grills but want to spend less than $500, and capacity is more important than portability, then this is the grill for you.
Say what you like about buying the name, yet with Weber it really isn't just name but quality. I've purchased many grills in the past and always think back to the old red charcoal grill we had for 25 years when I was a kid... and quess what- it was a Weber! That grill was built to last and so are their new ones. The E-210 is a great cooking, looking, and easy grill to use. Plus the drip tray and thermometer is great. I am very happy I've gone back to the name I remember as a kid as the quality and ease of these grills are still intact. Buy It!!!!!
Solidly built - nice design
Not too difficult to assemble - directions not the best (my pet peeve)
The only thing I don't like about the grill is that you can't really see the flame. Sometimes that's important. Overall pretty nice piece of hardware. And finally I own a grill that has a working thermometer.
Bought this yesterday, so haven't been able to assess long term durability. However I am very displeased with the flimsy sheet metal porcelain coated grates. Overall build quality appears mediocre. Temperature does not get much above 200 degrees C even on max. I was suckered in because of the Weber name. Never again.
